2020 Direction for Keffra and Rue

Posted by PenguinPotential - January 14th, 2020

I started making a few new characters last week called Keffra and Rue, and I'm trying to think of some fun ways to use them. I was thinking of having it be a series of short comics where Keffra is teach Rue survival tips in very extreme ways. Another thought was opening it up to readers to submit questions for them, similar to my other comic Ask Frigid Drift on Tumblr. I also wanted to try implementing small animation parts with it somehow, so if anyone has ideas on how to do that effectively I'd love to hear them! I'll have the comic idea up in a few days~

I'd also love to try adding some Patreon interaction with supporters, possibly in the form of polls or some other collaboration. I'll be touching up the tiers once I decide on something.

I think this sounds pretty dope! Where would you host the questions? Do you still use Tumblr? Short animatics would be dope as hell, but they could be very time consuming. I've seen people split it up between animatics and still images, but you're no stranger to that :P
Do you have voice actors in mind for them?

Tumblr is by far the best place for collecting questions, but it's been losing steam quickly since all of the new rules. I really wanted to have the comics have a single panel of animation, but that would require a huge GIF filesize. I'll probably make every 5th or so post fully animated. As for voices, I'd love them to have Irish/Scottish accents. No one in particular yet. Another idea for Patreon inclusion might be a "choose an adventure" poll and let them decide what happens next. I get too exhausted when there's too much interaction.

Extreme way survival tips sounds just perfect. XD I'll vote for that.

Intriguing characters.
